Dolphin integrates with Sitefinity to branch into consumer sites

Trade technology supplier Dolphin Dynamics has teamed up with Sitefinity to extend its product range to front-end consumer websites for the first time.

Trade technology supplier Dolphin Dynamics has teamed up with Sitefinity to extend its product range to front-end consumer websites for the first time.

The move offers Dolphin customers the advantages of a single hosted solution for their back and front office requirements for those who do not want to take on a full API-based build.

Andrew Davies, Dolphin’s marketing manager, said the integration with Sitefinity has enabled it to offer a bespoke product including travel-specific widgets like map-based search.

Customers can also licence publicly available Sitefinity widgets.

“Some customers prefer to have one provider who can supply them with a range of services which can make life a lot easier.

“For us it is opening up new market opportunities. There is a higher value proposition by offering a full end-to-end solution.”

Davies said the front-end offering is for travel firms which are serious about the web, and depending on how many suppliers are connected will require a budget of £15,000 and upwards in year one.

“We started off in back office for retail travel but our customers are multi-channel business and they are tour operating as well.

“They want to go online and we want to provide our customers with a complete solution.”

Dolphin has just gone live with luxury specialist Carrier in its tour operating module, and Davies said it was working on escorted tours as well as other tour operating sectors.
