Russia’s second-largest carrier, Transaero Airlines, has signed a new multi-year distribution deal with Sabre.

Russia’s second-largest carrier, Transaero Airlines, has signed a new multi-year distribution deal with Sabre.

The agreement means more than 370,000 travel agents connected to Sabre in over 130 countries will continue to have access to the airline’s fares, schedules and inventory.

Ancillary services are also due to be added.

Sabre EMEA suppler commerce director Hamish Broom said: “This deal is great news for travel agents because Transaero is one of the region’s fastest growing carriers flying to a number of key business and leisure travel destinations.

“Sabre has made significant investments in new technology to evolve our global marketplace for suppliers to maximise retailing opportunities.

“Combining more sales and revenue opportunities for suppliers with more choices for consumers and the travel agents who serve them is beneficial for everyone in the chain.”

Roman Vdovenko, deputy head of commercial department for Transaero Airlines, described the new agreement as a significant step in long-term co-operation between the two companies.

“Sabre’s top-notch technology is easy to work with and Sabre’s travel marketplace provides for more successful sales of our services all around the world,” he said.

“Sabre will be an important channel for us as the airline continues to grow, develop new products and enhance customer services.”
