Dedicated technology designed to help agents sell river cruises has been unveiled by Traveltek.
The iCruise – River search covers 70 river and small ship companies including AMA Waterways, Avalon, APT Cruising, Uniworld, Viking, Scenic Tours and Shearings.
The system allows users to search by river, along with content covering destinations, cruise lines, ships and itineraries.
The company is to showcase the technology, which links to its dynamic packaging platform, at the Clia UK & Ireland river cruise convention in Cologne next week.
Traveltek global sales director Peter Whittle said: “River cruising is one of the fastest growing travel sectors, with more than a 10% annual passenger growth in the last five years.
“Our newest technology answers the call from agents and tour operators to capitalise on this growth market, giving them the power to search and research more effectively.
“This provides great incremental revenue streams when combined with our innovative Cruise Dynamic packaging platform to provide flight plus hotel plus river cruise bespoke itineraries either dynamically or pre-packaged and displayed on their website and call centre booking tools.
“To date, technology has not really catered for the aggregation of river cruises and the industry has only just scratched the surface of its potential. Today’s launch will help cruise agents realise this potential.”
