The distribution deal follows the carrier announcing three transatlantic routes from Gatwick next summer to New York, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will operate all three routes with one-way fares on average up to 50% cheaper than flights from Heathrow.

Five new European destinations from Gatwick are also being offered next year to Santorini, Corfu, Catania in Sicily, Cyprus and Budapest.

Norwegian is also raising frequencies to Malaga, Ibiza, Split, Dubrovnik, Majorca, Faro, Tenerife, Copenhagen and Barcelona.
