Priceline boss to stand down after 11 years

Jeffery Boyd, the chief executive of US online travel agency Priceline, is standing down after 11 years.

Darren Huston, head of Priceline’s Booking.com arm, will take the helm and join the board.


Boyd will stay on as chairman, the company said as it released third quarter figures which saw sales rise by 33% to $2.27 billion.


Huston will become chief executive and join the board January 1. He moved to Booking.com in 2011 from Microsoft.


Priceline’s third-quarter net profit jumped 40% to $833 million from $596.6 million a year earlier.
