A contest is being launched today (Tuesday) by Lastminute.com to find a person to ‘road test’ £50,000-worth of travel experiences.

The company is seeking a ‘spontaneity champion’ to inspire others by taking part in trips picked by consumers using social media.

The winning candidate will be chosen by public voting on lovelivinglastminute.com and a panel of judges including travel documentary maker Simon Reeve.

Lastminute.com is asking anyone keen to apply to demonstrate their spontaneity in the most creative way possible.

The first stage of the application process is for applicants to create a 60-second YouTube video about why they are the ideal candidate.

Applications open today and close on December 1.

Ten finalists will then be shortlisted and given a spontaneous challenge to undertake within 48 hours.

The results of this challenge will be judged by the public, with two finalists selected by the public and one by the judges.

The three finalists will then be entered into one final test, with the winner selected by the panel of experts.

The winner will be announced on January 31.
