Elite Island Resorts claims to have become the first small independent hotel group to integrate electronically with British Airways Holidays for instant availability and bookings.

Resort Marketing International, the UK sales and marketing agency for the Caribbean resort group, has developed an XML core connectivity platform to link between resorts and the tour operator.

Centrium delivers live pricing, availability and guaranteed best rates in all room categories. The system allows special offers to be updated in real time.

The system has been designed to increase speed to market for bookings in the group’s properties in Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia, The Grenadines and the British Virgin Islands.

BA Holidays managing director Claire Bentley said: “A direct connection to the hotel’s reservation system will give us real-time pricing and availability in their resorts which are most popular in the Caribbean and comes at the optimum time as our market share in the Caribbean continues to grow.”

Resort Marketing International managing director Paula Whitehead said: “To be the first small independent hotel group to create a system to go live with British Airways Holidays in this way is something we’re delighted to see come to fruition.

“We have worked closely with the team for years, and this takes it to another level. We’re excited to watch bookings increase along with the speed of service to customers.”
