Travel technology firm Astratis has launched a reservations system for tour operators.

The Travel System One technology was developed following Astratis’ purchase of fellow tour operator technology firm Travel Options earlier this month.

The new system has been designed to cater for operators of all sizes. The merger means the two companies’ expertise is now combined – with Astratis concentrating on large companies and Travel Options on small to medium-sized operators.

Travel System One, which covers the booking of traditional package holidays, dynamically packaged holidays and web-based content, has been tested with three of the company’s clients.

Customers will be charged a monthly subscription fee and a per-passenger transaction fee, which will reduce according to the number of passengers booked.

Astratis chief executive Steve Watson claimed the system is “revolutionary” because it incorporates the booking of all types of holidays.

Other systems were designed to book one type of holiday with other systems “bolted on”, he said.
