A new range of high-tech resort hotels has been created by Thomas Cook.

The all-inclusive SunConnect properties will provide family-friendly rooms, teen online gaming areas, free Wi-Fi, dining rooms and a swimming pool from next summer in 10 resorts.

The concept will offer digital technology including a dedicated website, free wireless internet throughout the resort-site, and the ability to browse and book daily activities through smartphones and tablets.

Holidymakers will be supported by a ‘ConnectScout’ – a web-savvy holiday host who will facilitate digital activities families such as geocaching or Xbox gaming.

The first 10 resorts will be in destinations across Turkey, Cyprus, Gran Canaria, Majorca, Tunisia and Croatia.

Nine of the hotels are available to book online in the UK from today (October 31) at thomascook.com.

The properties will launch in full to the UK market in second edition 2014 brochures on December 12.

Thomas Cook group chief executive Harriet Green said: “Following the extensive survey of leisure travellers we undertook earlier this year, we found there was an increasing need for connected holiday experiences which was not being addressed.

“Our new SunConnect resorts are a major step forward in offering customers what they want.

“This isn’t just a rebrand of some of our hotels; it’s about our promise to listen to our customers and provide a high-tech, high-touch experience throughout these new resorts.”

She added: “SunConnect will give our customers access to the full strength and end-to-end value of Thomas Cook and our innovative offerings of our services and products.

“These new resorts show more clearly what differentiates us, whilst offering a high quality holiday experience that families can trust.”
