Santa goes meta with new Lapland holidays price comparison site

Santa Claus has gone meta thanks to a new price comparison site for Lapland trips.’s has been developed in partnership with agency SiteVisibility to allow customers to go to one place to shop for Father Christmas-themed breaks.

Investment in their own technology by Packyourbags was said to pave the way for their increasing moves into the bespoke and tailor made holidays market.

Thomas Kempster, technical director, said: “We felt there was a gap for a dedicated Lapland website which covered the entire market, most of which is currently cornered by tour operators selling directly to the consumer.

“All trips featured on our site have individual highlights broken down to make the decision making process quicker and easier for the user.

“We currently have 265 trips available from 6 different suppliers and we intend to keep building on this by actively looking to engage in more supplier relationships”

“Packyourbags Lapland fits perfectly alongside our Northern Lights sister site which we inherited when acquiring Medway Travel in 2012’’

The new site was developed on Packyourbags’ bespoke product management system that is based on a heavily customised Joomla platform.

This allows the Packyourbags team to effectively manage product from suppliers across this market.

At the heart of the technology is the companies own database structure which powers pricing and availability, allowing a fast reaction to the changing market.

This provides reservation staff with a means to manage enquiries and gives marketing staff complete transparency on marketing budget and performance.

The system also allows managers to monitor staff productivity and enquiry to booking conversion rates.
