Traveltek to create 20 new jobs following iCruise launch

Internet technology provider Traveltek is creating 20 new jobs in addition to 40 new staff taken on earlier this year.

Internet technology provider Traveltek is creating 20 new jobs in addition to 40 new staff taken on earlier this year.

The new positions will help with the company’s planned expansion in 2014.

It expects both staff numbers and revenue to double in 12 months.

The new jobs cover development resource, analysts, project managers, account management and international sales positions.

The launch of Traveltek’s iCruise selling system has led to increasing demand as many of the UK’s major cruise retailers adopt the system.

Chief executive Kenny Picken said: “Ease of use, comprehensive rich content and a heavily commercially focused admin system have proven Traveltek’s iCruise selling system to be the system of choice for travel agents all over the UK and across the world.

“Adopted last year by ACE (now Clia) to train new-to-cruise recruits, iCruise has enabled agents to sell more cruise than ever before.

“Previous systems were clunky and without content but we have added rich cruise line content for 180 cruise lines across the world and now include all major cruise lines as a bookable online via iCruise.

“Put simply, we have answered the call of the industry and simplified the process of selling cruise and made all cruise lines available in our system. We have four times more bookable cruise lines than any other provider.”

Global sales director Peter Whittle added: “Whilst cruise has very much assisted our growth, we have an overall demand for the Traveltek iSell system and have scored major client wins across the world, including Virgin Holiday Cruises, a very significant and successful distribution partnership with Travelport GDS and also going live this month one of the USA’s major travel retailers, Liberty Travel, with a full product suite.”

The company is attracting enquiries from China, Russia, the Middle East, Asia and South America.
