A more affordable solution to enable independent agents to have a competitive online offer is being provided by Multicom.

The travel technology specialist has joined forces with software services company Ultimedia to create Ultimedia Travel.

The two companies claim the initiative is set to level the playing field for independents and has been developed with Multicom’s FindandBook system integrated in the backend.

Ultimedia provides web-based transaction processing services to the travel industry, retail and financial services including Thomas Cook, Co-operative Travel and Midcounties Co-operative Travel.

The solution for agents will feature both bookable and non-bookable options and has been designed to suit modest budgets.

Multicom managing director John Howell said: “We’re delighted to be working with Ultimedia and that FindandBook is helping to power the new generation of travel technology software.

“This development will increase competition, providing more choice for travel agents and customers alike, at an affordable and accessible price that will fit most independent agent’s budgets.

“This will undoubtedly level the playing field for the independents and further boost online sales for the market as a whole.”
