Luggage shipping provider Sendmybag is starting an affiliate scheme for the travel trade.
Agents will be rewarded 10% commission on both the first and any subsequent orders made.
The Sendmybag Trade initiative allows agents and consumers, both in-store and online, to add ‘sending their luggage’ to their holiday package.
After purchasing flights and accommodation, consumers will either be prompted by an affiliate link online or a travel agent request, to book baggage shipping.
In return, the participating travel site or agent will receive commission of 10%, meaning up to £6 can be made on a return 30kg suitcase to Spain. The consumer will also receive a 5% discount on their order.
Company founder Adam Ewart said: “In today’s climate where we are plagued by excessive fees and lost luggage, consumers and travel businesses have become much more open to the idea of couriering baggage to their holiday destination, however for many this is a completely new concept to them.
“That’s why we launch our travel trade affiliate programme with the ‘No Questions, Just Commission’ strapline meaning any customer enquiries are handled by us seven days a week via our customer service team, no matter whether they’re at home or abroad. Our app also allows for ease of luggage tracking every step of the way.
“This latest initiative seemed like a natural progression for us and brings us closer to the hotels + flights + bags approach to travel which we think will be commonplace in a few years.”
