Former Directline Holidays chief executive Maria Whiteman has been named as UK and Ireland commercial director for Amadeus.
She will be responsible for developing commercial strategy over the next few years.
A key focus will be on expanding the range of consulting and solutions services, ensuring travel sellers have the smarter technology they need to most effectively grow their businesses, Amadeus said.
Whiteman, who will be based at Amadeus’s UK head office in Gatwick. previously worked for Travel 2/Travel 4 and Hayes & Jarvis.
Regional managing director Diane Bouzebiba said: “Maria’s drive, combined with her enormous expertise in the travel sector, will be a huge advantage to us as we continue to grow the business in the UK.
