Hot Hotels snaps up ‘pioneering’ late booking app

Late booking travel app ReallyLateBooking has been snapped up by mobile accommodation rival Hot Hotels.

Late booking travel app ReallyLateBooking has been snapped up by mobile accommodation rival Hot Hotels.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, sees Hot Hotels take an active role in the ongoing consolidation of the mobile last-minute hotel booking market in Europe.

Madrid-based ReallyLateBooking claims to be among the pioneers of last-minute hotel booking in Europe. Its mobile app has been downloaded more than 300,000 times.

Hot Hotels chief executive Conor O´Connor claimed: “This acquisition will make Hot Hotels the undisputed leader of last-minute mobile hotel booking in Europe.

“Two years of hard work by the founders of ReallyLateBooking have achieved a solid base of customers and a stable pattern of daily bookings.”

Roberto Gil, chief executive of ReallyLateBooking, added: “Although competitors, we have always had good relations with the founders of Hot Hotels. They are serial entrepreneurs with extensive contacts in European travel.

“Combining forces with Hot Hotels will dramatically improve the experience for our customers and hotel partners.”
