Airberlin Holidays claims 15% conversion uplift following Vayant implementation

Airberlin Holidays claims to have achieved an uplift of 15%-20% in its conversion rate by using air fare search firm Vayant Travel Technologies’ cache export solution Pricing Cache.

Pricing Cache was deployed for the for German carrier’s holiday arm less than a year ago to power dynamic packaging on its leisure travel portal.

The solution exports a customised set of available fares from the operator’s partner airlines Airberlin and Etihad Airways into dynamic packaging technology provided by Vayant partner Peakwork.

As well as supporting dynamic packaging, Pricing Cache also enables Airberlin Holidays to promote the best prices from its airline partners on the portal.

The custom-made cache contains three passenger types (adult, child and infant) and claims to achieve bookability of about 85% with three updates day. The cache could be updated every hour if required.

Vayant chief executive Eric Dumas said: “Customers expect more and more from their online shopping experiences. Pricing Cache gives travel sellers like Airberlin Holidays the fast up-to-date fares they need to meet and exceed customer expectations, resulting in a much improved bottom line.”

Airberlin Holidays managing director André Kollmeyer said: “Vayant were very responsive – they designed and executed a solution within 10 days of receiving our request. Thanks to Pricing Cache, today we see a significant uplift of our conversion rate by 15 to 20%.”
