Middle Eastern airline Emirates claims it has become the first airline in the MENA region to use Google Now card for customer who book with it online.
Google Now is the search giant’s new personalised mobile service which offers users more relevant information on the Google homepage.
Emirates use of Google Now will enable its customers to use it like a personal assistant offering information about their travel plans when they need it.
Details about timings, departure terminals, local currency, accommodation and weather conditions will be updated automatically without the user having to ask or search for it.
Patrick Brannelly, vice president product, publishing, digital and events, emirates corporate communications, marketing and brand, said:
“Emirates prides itself on our constant innovation and working with technology partners that will enhance our passengers’ experience.
“For users who book on Emirates.com, Google Now will allow us to deliver even more pre-flight information to our customers about their destination in a very user-friendly style and we hope our passengers find it of benefit.”
Google Now is available immediately for Emirates passengers who book on Emirates.com, provided they have downloaded the appropriate version of the app for their smartphone and have a Gmail account.
