Sabre ‘takes next step in managed travel’ with launch of TruTrip

Sabre Travel Network has developed new technology to allow agents to better manage travel that takes place by business travelers outside of approved programmes.

TruTrip gives travel management companies enhanced insight into travel activity and create a single itinerary even though component parts are booking from multiple suppliers.

It will then be possible to sync this with corporates’ travel programmes so they can see details of the entire trip.

The technology builds on existing Sabre products like its mobile app TripCase, online booking tool GetThere and travel agency selling platform Sabre Red.

Harald Eisenaecher (pictured), senior vice president for Sabre Travel Network EMEA, said: “This is the next step in managed travel.

“TruTrip will help travellers have a better service experience and allow travel managers and TMCs to be better stewards of T&E spend.

“Travel managers will be able to improve duty of care, drive greater policy compliance and have broader visibility across their travel programme.”

A Sabre announcement added: “At the heart of this new capability is the TruTrip Hub, an intelligent rules engine that aggregates travel and itinerary data from multiple sources.

“Whether a trip was booked in or out of the programme, the TruTrip Hub collects and synchronises business travel itineraries with mobile, online, and offline tools to create a complete view of travel activity using a shared graphical itinerary.

“This ensures the traveller, corporation, and TMC can instantly access the same information.”

TruTrip also comes with TruTrip Shop, a gateway that extends managed travel booking capabilities to additional sources outside of the core Sabre travel marketplace.
