DIYTravel.co.uk, a bedbank launched in January 2006, has launched what it claims is the most comprehensive flight meta search site in the UK.

The East London-based operation has negotiated agreements to take XML feeds from 600 low cost and scheduled airlines, and leading online travel agencies.

The launch of the flight tool coincides with the unveiling of a beta hotel meta search tool on DIYTravel.co.uk.

Managing director Ben Jackson created DIYTravel.co.uk in January 2006 initially to sell hotel rooms and apartments, as well as building a community function with consumer reviews.

Jackson said: “Flight search is a major addition to DIYTravel.co.uk and will help many more customers take the DIY route to saving money on travel.

“We have helped customers create ‘Do It Yourself’ holidays for over a year now and with the Civil Aviation Authority predicting that 18 million people will book DIY in 2007, sites like DIYTravel.co.uk are ensuring more customers have access to the best available prices.”

The XML deals include access fares on EasyJet, Ryanair, BMI Baby, ThomsonFly, Virgin, British Airways, Lastminute.com, Opodo, Ebookers and Expedia.
