Room77 makes two senior appointments to support growth
Jessie Becker, former marketing executive at Netflix, is joining US hotel search engine Room 77 as chief marketing officer.
Doug Aley, co-founder and former chief executive of Off & Away, will become vice president of product and corporate development.
The appointments follow closely Drew Patterson joining as the company’s fist chief executive in April and a $30.3 million financing round to support the company’s growth and international expansion.
The company, which now employs 40 people, has raised $43.8 million from strategic partners, venture firms and high-profile angels, including Expedia; Erik Blachford, former chief executive of Expedia and IAC Travel; and Bob Pittman, founder of MTV.
Launched in 2012, Room 77 claims to searches more hotel sources and rates than any other travel search engine and uncovers an average of $72 in savings per hotel stay in two out of three searches.
