Travelport claims its Rooms and More hotel booking platform now offers the broadest range of any in its field with 450,000 individual properties listed.

Travelport claims its Rooms and More hotel booking platform now offers the broadest range of any in its field with 450,000 individual properties listed.

It has recently given the service, built on the back of metasearch technology the GDS bought in, a refresh with an improved look and field and slicker commission payments for travel agents.

Gordon Wilson, president and chief executive of Travelport, said: “Rooms and More is up 200% year on year. I think it has the most complete offering of individual hotel properties bookable than any other tool in the market. We have just put on Lowcost Beds. We are now at 450,000 individual properties. Most analysis will tell you there is about 500,000 individual hotels in the world.

“We have more bookable hotels than Expedia or Priceline and, anyway, they are both in Rooms and More. Every hotel has got two offers and suppliers and we have over one million offers in total.”

Wilson said the technology was applicable for the aggregation of other content including add-on travel product like limousine transfers and travel insurance.

“We want to have the most compete offering of anyone in the marketplace,” said Wilson.

The change to commission payments means agents are no longer required to have a Paypal account. Wilson said payments are noe processed through Travelport making the system less cumbersome.
