Hilton and Lastminute.com unite for theatre booking deal

Lastminute.com has signed a major partnership with the Hilton hotel chain to provide booking facilities for theatre and accommodation packages.

The Hilton Theatre Breaks service will be introduced this year in the UK and Ireland and will allow users to customise packages for 30 shows in the London’s West End.

Additional theatre trips and accompanying hotels in other UK and Ireland cities are expected to be included in the dedicated channel on the Hilton website during 2007.

Users will select a show and date and then a list of hotels and number of rooms available in the area will be displayed.

Tim Davis, Hilton senior vice president for commercial development and information technology, said: “We have launched Hilton Theatre Breaks in response to consumer demand for entertainment-based short breaks and with the platform provided by lastminute.com, booking and fulfilling these breaks is very efficient.”

Lastminute.com has spearheaded the development of theatre and entertainment packages through online travel agencies, achieving significant success with its Restaurant Plus Theatre deals.

Lastminute.com commercial director Vic Darvey said: “Providing consumers with ideas of how to fill their leisure time is at the heart of Lastminute.com, so teaming up with another aspirational brand such as Hilton is another logical step for us.”
