Travel Channel UK is to rebrand with the hope of reaching out to a wider range of viewers.

The channel, which currently broadcasts in 130 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, has created a logo to compliment its new format.

After being acquired by Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI) last year, the aim is to rejuvenate the existing channel with a mixture of new factual entertainment shows and talent to front them.

A variety of programmes will be premiered starting from April and presented by the likes of US television personalities Don Wildman, Henry Cole and Camilla Anderson.

Canadian presenter Colin Pyle, who is set to star in The Middle Kingdom Ride, said: “My brother and I had such an amazing time making our show. We know viewers will be as excited as we are about tuning in each week.”

The channel is looking to ensure that it is a one-stop-shop for fans of travel-based entertainment shows, covering everything from adventure to lifestyle programming.

Nick Thorogood, SVP programming and marketing at SNI said: “It will deliver the experience and quality of a modern world-class channel that will resonate with fans of the Travel Channel and also engage with new audiences.”
