A holiday research and booking app has been developed by The Co-operative Travel to coincide with an upgrade of the company’s website.
The app integrates mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones, with the co-operativetravel.co.uk website to allow flights, hotels and package holidays to be booked.
The Co-op said the improvements have simplified the site to help users find what they are looking for much more quickly.
A membership points calculator has been added so Co-operative members can see how many points they will earn from booking a holiday through the travel arm.
Head of e-commerce Susan Chapman said: “The new technology in people’s homes is no longer a computer or even a laptop; increasingly it’s a mobile device, and our new travel apps have been designed in line with this development in modern living.
“Statistics showed that last year 24% of travel queries were from mobiles and this is expected to double this year.
“People want to find information faster than ever whilst on the move and need flexibility to not only search, but book travel related products on the go too, so we are embracing technology and offering just that to our customers.”
