Inside C, a UK-based web company that produces interactive functionality for the Windows Live! and Yahoo! messaging systems, has reported a massive surge in searches and referrals through a partnership with Ebookers.

Click-through rates have soared to around 25% via the tool, which allows users to type “Fly” followed by the name of a destination on the instant messaging system.

Users then receive a snapshot of live results and a link direct to the online travel agency.

Following the success of the Ebookers service, InsideMessenger is expected to sign a major deal with one of the leading US online travel agencies in the next few weeks.

”We find that out customers are far more likely to actually continue and book on  the supplier’s website than if they were just shopping,” said Edd McArdle, co-founder of Inside C.
