Carlson Rezidor ends third party reliance with Travelport tech upgrade

A direct XML link has been established between Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and the Galileo and Worldspan GDSs.

A direct XML link has been established between Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and the Galileo and Worldspan GDSs.

This allows the hotel group to eliminate costs, inefficiencies and data restrictions of routing content via a third party.

The improved delivery connection to the Travelport GDSs provides rates, inventory and content directly to travel agencies in more than 170 countries.

Content from Carlson Rezidor’s Curtis-C central reservations system covering more than 1,000 hotels links directly to Galileo and Worldspan, doing away with dependencies on other third parties to bring new Travelport functionality from Carlson to travel agents.

The technology reduces hotel distribution costs by supporting a single connection to Travelport’s GDSs.

The link gives Travelport subscribers instant access to the hotel group’s real-time rates, availability and rules as well as Travelport Complete Pricing functionality.

The hotel company’s revenue optimization and distribution senior vice president Frederic Deschamps said: “Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is committed to deploying technologies such as Travelport’s Hotel XML Supplier Link, which deliver substantial benefits to our organization and properties, as well as our travel agency partners and end-consumers.

“Seamless integration provides streamlined booking capabilities. We are extremely pleased with the performance and reliability of the technology.”
