A range of new features have been added to the Holiday Team’s online flight and hotel booking system for travel agents, making it easier to book complex long-haul flight itineraries.

A range of new features have been added to the Holiday Team’s online flight and hotel booking system for travel agents, making it easier to book complex long-haul flight itineraries.
 
The company, owned by Southall Travel, has invested in upgrading the booking system following consultations with travel agents as it aims for growth for 2013.
 
Many new features have been added to the agents’ site over the last six months, but the main changes are geared towards booking multi-stop round-the-world flight bookings.
 
One of the main selling points for the new site is that live reservations can now be made 24 hours per day, seven days a week, and bookings can be made up to 24 hours before departure. Flight options can also be held for up to 72 hours without commitment.


The company’s new multi-stop flight search allows agents to book up to six sectors online, compared to other consolidators’ websites that allow up to two or three sectors, requiring a phone call if more sectors are required.
 
Another feature which has been introduced following requests from agents is the online bookable open-jaw flights, enabling bookings such as London to San Francisco outbound and a Los Angeles to London return.
 
Sales director Rajan Sawhney said: “We’ve held a number of sessions with different agents to understand their frustrations with booking long-haul travel.


“We’ve spent time with our online development team to feedback agents’ comments so we created a robust site which reflects the way they want to search and book today.”
