London hotels have been ranked last in a top 100 of global cities based on ratings and reviews aggregated from more than 140 booking sites.
Dresden in Germany was rated top in the latest global destination reputation ranking compiled by metasearch site Trivago.
The list classifies destinations according to the reputation of their hotels.
Included in the ranking of 100 global destinations are metropolitan cities with at least 135 hotels and 60 reviews on trivago.
Dresden’s hotels received the highest ratings and most positive reviews amongst guests, but hotels in London have not been reviewed so favourably.
Also high on the list are Hanoi, Tokyo, Chicago and Krakow. But capital cities have not fared so well with Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris and Copenhagen all in the bottom ten with London.
A separate listing of 20 UK destinations sees Windermere top followed by Torquay and Inverness. London, Brighton and Birmingham are at the bottom, showing that guests are less likely to rate metropolitan destinations favourably, according to Trivago.
The UK ranking features destinations with at least 70 hotels and 48 reviews on Trivago.
