Amadeus eyes leaders of tomorrow with first ITT partnership

Amadeus says it intends to use its recently announced tie-up with the Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) as a platform to develop the industry leaders of tomorrow.

The technology provider and GDS announced the two-year deal at the end of last year becoming the ITT’s first technology partner from this month.

The ITT is a travel sector membership organisation best known for its high profile events aimed at senior manager and annual overseas conference. This year it will be held in Abu Dhabi.

The institute also works closely with universities and other training bodies to promote the sector and the next generation of managers.

Diane Bouzebiba, managing director, Amadeus UK and Ireland, said: “Amadeus plays a vital role in ensuring all industry stakeholders are better connected.

“We do this by deploying smarter technology as we spearhead the industry’s move to more flexible and dynamic open systems technology.

“I see our partnership with ITT as a vital component in helping us to deliver on our commitment to enabling success in travel.

“Amadeus is also dedicated to providing superior service, and together with ITT we look forward to helping develop the travel leaders of tomorrow who can continue to drive our industry forward.”

Steven Freudman, ITT chairman said: “ITT is dedicated to working on behalf of its industry members by facilitating professional development through the sharing of industry issues. Our goal is to raise and maintain professional standards in the travel industry.”

“By working with Amadeus, we see an opportunity to help our members gain a current and in-depth understanding of the changing role that travel technology increasingly plays in our daily lives.

“This is the first time we have agreed an exclusive partnership with a technology company. It is the meeting of two like-minded organisations, both intent on raising standards in the industry.”
