IPC Media has become the latest mainstream media company to launch a dedicated travel section for one of its publications.

The consumer magazine giant, which publishes titles such as NME, Loaded and Woman’s Own, has created MyHolidayIdeas.com as a bolt-on to its TVTimes website.

The site will feature editorial content as well as act as an online portal for the travel classifieds section from the magazine.

TV Times publisher Rich Coles said: “TVTimes readers love to travel almost as much as they enjoy watching TV. This new site is dedicated to inspiring them with their holiday choices, whether that’s in the UK or overseas.”

The launch comes during a frenetic period by the UK’s leading media houses to beef up their travel offering online.

Last week the Guardian re-launched its travel channel on Guardian Unlimited and MSN has also unveiled a new and radically overhauled travel section this week.

Cathy Neale, IPC Media classified group advertising director, added: “Our travel advertisers are embracing the many opportunities that online offers them and MyHolidayIdeas.com complements perfectly TVTimes’ existing travel section.”
