More than a quarter of Britons are set to spend more on holidays this year, a new study shows.
Research by reviews site TripAdvisor found that 27% intend for their holiday budget to increase in 2013 compared to last year.
A further 42% expect holiday spend to remain the same this year, while 31% expect to see a drop in their holiday spend.
The results come from a poll of more than 5,600 people.
A TripAdvisor spokeswoman said: “It’s encouraging to see that over two-thirds of British travellers expect their holiday budgets to either remain the same or increase this year.
“Whether it’s due to a healthier economy or Brits simply refusing to sacrifice a holiday, it’s good to see such an optimistic outlook for the travel industry in 2013.”
