Skyscanner flight search data reveals unserved direct routes

The most requested global routes that remain unserved have been revealed by travel search engine Skyscanner, exposing untapped opportunities for airlines.

The analysis reveals prospects for carriers to consider, with the study showing a range of routes within each global region as well as inter-regionally.

London to Denpasar, the capital of the Indonesian island of Bali, is most searched for route between the Europe, Middle East and Africa region and Asia which currently lacks a direct service.

New York to Bangkok remains the most popular but unserved search between the Americas and Asia, while the Budapest to New York connection is the most searched route between EMEA and the Americas.

London to Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, is the most requested route within EMEA, Orlando to Rio de Janeiro is the top searched but unserved route within the Americas, while Delhi to Auckland has the most searches within Asia-Pacific.
