Amadeus has been recognised by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for its sustainability strategy for the fifth consecutive year in the European and World categories.
The index traces, reviews and evaluates sustainability in leading-edge corporations worldwide, with Amadeus the only travel technology company included in both indices.
“Our capacity to provide the travel industry with IT solutions to help reduce its environmental impact was an important part of the selection process,” a spokesman said.
The company reached the highest scores in relevant areas such as code of business conduct, risk and crisis management, environmental management systems and reporting, and corporate citizenship.
Amadeus IT Group general counsel and corporate secretary, Tomas López Fernebrand, said: “Amadeus is committed to supporting travel providers and travellers through transparent business practices delivering a positive impact on society and the environment.
“This new DJSI recognition of Amadeus’ strategy encourages us to continue to work in that direction.”
