Online multi-day tour marketplace TourRadar has announced it will repeat its online expo next month.

The firm ran an online expo in January and claims it was a huge success with 30,000 visitors attending the virtual event, a figure it expects to beat in September.

The next expo, due to run from September 15-22, will be sponsored by Intrepid Travel and supported by other operators like Contiki, G Adventures, Topdeck and Trafalgar.

Operators will offer discounts to visors and a trip to Cambodia for two will be given away.

Travis Pittman, chief executive of TourRadar, said: “One of the biggest reasons people go to a traditional travel expo is for discounts.

“We didn’t see any reason why we couldn’t bring it to the online world, so we did. Doing this made it easy and convenient for customers making travel bookings and for operators, since there’s no need for an in-person booth.”

The expo will also give a chance for smaller operators like Hotspots2C and Wanderlands Travel to get in front of a global audience, said TourRader.
