Dutch low-cost carrier transavia.com is to distribute to the trade via Travelport GDSs.

The service is being piloted in Portugal with plans to make the content more widely available from the fourth quarter of the year.

Robin Ranken, head of airline relationships for Europe at Galileo and Worldspan parent Travelport, said: “This is an important agreement for our travel agency customers worldwide, who currently are the only ones to have access to this content.”

The airline carries more than 5 million passengers a year to over 100 destinations from bases Holland and France.

Sales vice president Rob van Dam said: “Expanding our global reach is an important part of our ongoing distribution strategy and an agreement with Travelport is the obvious way to achieve this.

“By accessing Travelport’s large customer base, we are opening up a valuable new channel for consumers to book our flights.”
