Expedia.co.uk has launched a new destination ideas section on its website in a bid to provide more inspiration to consumers.
The Destination Store section will be available direct from the homepage on an interactive map and include guides, facts and figures and important information for visitors.
Information about flights, hotels and packages will also be included in the section.
Expedia UK marketing director Elyas Chowdhury said, “With the world at our fingertips, people find it increasingly difficult to narrow down their options for their next holiday destination.
The launch of the new product comes as a string of travel websites attempt to use online as a primary method of inspiring consumers, rather than simply being search and booking functions.
“The aim of Expedia’s new Destination Stores is to make the holiday shopping experience even easier, enabling visitors to the Expedia.co.uk site to find the trips that really get them going at the click of a button,” Chowdhury added.
A Know Before You Go area will include details such as climate, festivals, passport and visa requirements, health and safety information, and airport advice.
