Travelsupermarket has expanded its hotel search functionality to include images, room details, board criteria and supplier information.

The meta search website has also increased its coverage of hotels to utilise satellite location maps, user and professional reviews.

The move follows a recent beefing up of its flight channel to include information of excess baggage fees and stopover costs.

Reviews will be created by a mix of user-generated content and editorial from newspapers such as The Guardian, Financial Times and the Daily Telegraph, alongside The AA, Frommers and Fodors.

Hotels channel manager Alexis Garrick said: “The additional information on the site will give users a comprehensive idea of the hotel and, with this, complete peace of mind that they are getting the correct doeal their individual needs.

“The fact that users can also read reviews, both personal and professional, gives an excellent overview of the hotel and the sharing of information.”

Earlier this week Travelsupermarket signed a partnership deal with Spanish hotel chain Sol Melia to join the meta search website’s hotel channel.
