Momondo to sponsor Society of American Travel Writers meeting

Copenhagen-based flight and hotel search engine Momondo is a key sponsor of this week’s Society of American Travel Writers’ 2012 editor’s council meeting in New York.

Copenhagen-based flight and hotel search engine Momondo is to reflect the role that the US media has played in its development by sponsoring a leading gathering of American travel media. Momondo partner Martin Lumbye will deliver an introduction about the company at the Society of American Travel Writers’ 2012 editors council meeting in New York on May 6. He said: “Even though Momondo is based in Europe, we are grateful for the recognition and support of the American media. “When we launched Momondo in 2006, it was the American media, specifically, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC and legendary American travel authority, Arthur Frommer that really noticed what we were doing and acknowledged us for it. We are thrilled that the US media continues to take interest.” The meeting on May 3-6 includes almost 60 US travel editors from media such as the Associated Press, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Philadelphia Inquirer, Miami Herald, Budget Travel Magazine, US News and World Report, National Geographic Traveler, Westways, Midwest Living, Sherman’s Travel Media, Smarter Travel Media, Lonely Planet and Frommers.com.
