Around 500 independent hotels represented by Worldhotels are joining the online hotel search engine Roomkey.com to increase direct bookings.

The agreement means that Room Key gains access to more than 100,000 rooms in key destinations all around the world, especially strengthening the portfolio in Asia Pacific and Europe.

Worldhotels is the first European partner for Room Key which was established in January by founding hotel partners Choice Hotels International, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott and Wyndham Hotel Group.

Worldhotels managing director Robert Hornman said: “We have been consistently growing direct bookings and with Room Key we can now offer our hotels another way to reach guests directly via worldhotels.com.

“Room Key has created an innovative booking process, bringing hotels even closer to their guests.”
