New full content distribution deals have been struck between Travelport and sister carriers Lufthansa and Swiss.

Agents using Galileo and Worldspan will continue to have access to the full published content of both airlines as a result of the multi-year global content agreements.

GDS surcharges will continue to be waived for Travelport-connected agencies participating in each airline’s preferred fares programmes that operate in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Robin Ranken, head of airline relationships for Europe at Travelport said “We are delighted to have signed these agreements and to be able to guarantee surcharge-free booking for all of our travel agency customers.

“These unrivalled agreements will certainly sharpen our competitive edge in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein and further illustrate our ability to work with our airline partners to reach a situation that is mutually beneficial.”

The German carrier’s distribution strategy and sales costs director Andreas Haug said: “We very much value our ongoing partnership with Travelport who offer an important distribution channel for the sale of Lufthansa fares through their Galileo and Worldspan platforms. We look forward to continuing to work closely with them over the coming years.”

Oliver Barthelmeh, head of revenue management, pricing and distribution at Swiss said: “Travelport offers a highly efficient means of booking all Swiss flights and fares for travel agencies worldwide.”
