England’s official tourism website EnjoyEngland.com is to relaunch with a string of Web 2.0 initiatives including blogs, personalisation and video and audio content.

The range of improvements will also include advanced search capabilities and a redesigned homepage to assist better navigation of the site for users.

Google Maps integration, an interactive Day Trip Planner and editorial-led top five selections covering accommodation, attractions, activities and events will round off the developments.

“There has never been a shortage of information on EnjoyEngland.com,” a spokesman said.

“In fact, we are probably the biggest library of inspirational content about visiting England and providing consumers with the practical information to get them where they want to go.

“The new site aims to acts as a librarian – a ‘helping hand’ that makes it even easier for users to look for and book their next trip in their own country.”

EnjoyEngland.com has signed a series of partnerships with Walkingworld.com, Sustrans and British Waterways to provide content, maps and guides for cycling, walking and canal holidays.

The organisation is also hitting the online marketing trail with a series of audio banners, based on its recent TV campaign, to run on Teletext Holidays, The Trainline, View London and Top Table, as well as portal deals on AOL, MSN, Orange and Tiscali.
