CWT rolls out travel app to smartphones

Travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel has made its mobile app available to smartphone users.

Travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel has made its mobile app available to smartphone users.

CWT To Go has been adapted for all the main smartphone platforms and is available exclusively to customers who book their travel through CWT.

Developed with e-Commerce partner Rearden Commerce, the app offers access to trip details, provides flight status updates and offers mobile check-in as well as local information.

Pauline Quéré, CWT vice-president for customer product marketing, said: “Whether corporations embrace it or not, we have seen that mobile technology is becoming a critical component of a business traveller’s everyday life.

“The potential to be gained by integrating mobile devices to a managed travel programme is vast – not just in terms of additional services to the traveller but also in ensuring the traveller’s safety and security.

With CWT To Go, we are providing our clients with a secure and free offer, which will help their travellers be more effective on the go, whilst at the same time ensuring that they remain within their corporations’ travel programme.”

CWT claims the app will increase compliance with travel management protocols by eliminating any risk from using third party providers.

Trip data is made available to the app whether the travel components were booked on or offline and it also enables users to contact a CWT advisor to re-schedule or book further travel.
