Meta search engine Travelsupermarket is aiming to double its coverage of package holidays following the appointment of a dedicated manager to oversee the business.

Kayte Williams has been promoted from her three-year position as commercial coordinator to oversee the holidays’ business, which launched in May 2006 and has already grabbed around 650,000 unique users per month.

The package holiday channel on the site currently has 14 holiday partners, including First Choice, Thomas Cook and MyTravel.

Williams has been set a target of attracting a further 16 partners for the meta search site, in the face of increased competition from new entrants from the US.

Williams said: “Travelsupermarket.com has grown dramatically over the past two years and there is certainly scope for more developments.

“I look forward to being part of this dynamic channel on the site and working closely with our existing partners as well as expanding them.”
