Corporate travel technology provider Lanyon has launched a tool to shift the entire hotel Request for Proposal process online.

The product is hoping to eradicate the need for emails, faxes and other manual procedures between travel management companies and large corporate hotel chains.

Opteva has been unveiled as one of the companies to incorporate the product into its systems, alongside existing customers BCD Travel, Hogg Robinson and Levis Strauss & Co.

The hotel booking and management service for corporate travel is currently undergoing major changes, with Hogg Robinson attempting a second floatation on the Stock Exchange this week and continued calls from technological cooperation within the industry.

Lanyon managing director Roland Tanner said: “We are very excited to be delivering a solution that puts the corporate travel managers and TMC programme managers in the same virtual room as the hotel RFP managers.

“At last the travel managers and programme managers can communicate direct, and on-line, with the hotel companies and automate many of he historically manual and time intensive tasks relating to their RFP processes.”
