Bristol-based travel technology specialists Digital Visitor and Multicom have teamed up to offer their services together to clients.
The tie-up will see Digital Visitor’s social media applications offered as an optional extra in Multicom’s FindandBook (FaB) product aggregation technology. The firms said the intention of the move was to increase conversion and sales for their travel clients by exploiting the growing influence of social media.
Digital Visitor applications include one for review and ratings and another for discussions and forums. The technology can be integrated into websites to give user-generated content functionality including the ability to upload photographs, videos, reviews and ratings.
It is also compatible with the leading social media websites allowing the content to be shared and distributed among customers’ networks.
John Howell, managing director of Multicom, said: “In an increasingly competitive industry, companies need to provide customers with more reasons to book on their site, and trusted reviews from real customers really is one of the best ways of convincing potential customers.
“Reviews have been proven to increase conversions, and so by integrating Digital Visitor’s social media applications with our hugely successful booking system, we aim to very easily and swiftly increase the conversion rates on our client’s websites”.
Digital Visitor chief executive Anthony Rawlins said: “By offering our leading products together, we are able to provide the optimum website solution, capturing audiences at every stage of the booking cycle and helping to increase bookings”.
