A dedicated cruise API has been developed for Multicom’s FindandBook (FaB) booking platform as demand for cruise holidays is forecast to continue to rise.

Online cruise bookings have almost doubled from 9% to more than 17% over the last two years, highlighting the growing demand for FaB to provide a dedicated cruise API, according to the travel software solutions company

Multicom managing director John Howell said: “We are already in talks with several leading cruise companies and market leading travel agents to provide them with our cruise API and expect to be able to announce details of our first contract in the very near future.”

He added: “There is ample evidence that cruise holidays are not suffering the same impact as traditional holidays from the tough financial climate we are all experiencing.

“In addition, the growth of online bookings is exceptional and ensuring travel agents using FaB have access to cruise holidays was a key business objective for Multicom.

“The development of our cruise API will ensure that FaB users are ideally placed over the coming years to be able to service that demand and provide the best possible choice to their customers.”
