Corinthia spa site gets mobile treatment from Nucleus

Digital agency Nucleus has created mobile-optimised spa microsites for five-star London hotel The Corinthia.

Digital agency Nucleus has created a mobile-optimised spa microsite for five-star London hotel The Corinthia.

The ESPA Life at Corinthia site is configured for use on iPhones and other smartphones, on iPads and on desktop PCs.

Nucleus said there is a growing audience of consumers who choose to browse for luxury brand sites on mobile devices.

Following a survey of its own customers, Nucleus expects month-on-month mobile browsing growth to continue registering at between 10% and 20%.

According to ComScore smartphone and tablet devices now account for 5% of all digital traffic in Europe’s five largest markets, and Apple devices account for 61% of all non-desktop web traffic.

Nuclues said this group of customers “often eschews desk-bound working” so the site automatically determines what device is being used delivers the appropriate format.

Peter Matthews, Nucleus founder and chief executive, said: “Brands now have to consider a very different digital landscape to even a year ago, with mobile phones and tablets rapidly becoming important web browsing devices, not just users of apps.

“For ESPA Life at Corinthia we have therefore created a simple but elegant website content structure and aesthetic that works equally well across all devices.

“As we are particularly bullish on the prospects for mobile browsing, mobile now influences our thinking and the way we craft every solution.”

Brian Pratt, senior vice president of Corinthia Hotels and Resorts said: “The Nucleus team has now brought our stunning Spa to life online and ensured our clients can enjoy the amazing experience from their preferred mobile devices.”
