United Airlines has extended a distribution deal with Amadeus until 2013. The airline’s Economy Plus seating will become available to US-based travel agencies using Amadeus from summer 2012 as part of the agreement.
“Additional terms of the agreement are proprietary and therefore not disclosed,” Amadeus said.
The US carrier’s marketing programs and distribution senior vice president Mark Bergsrud said: “United is committed to providing the industry’s leading air travel products along with the most robust and personalised shopping experience for our customers.
“To accomplish our vision, we need innovative and efficient partners who are committed to working together with us to distribute our products and services where our customers shop. We value Amadeus’ worldwide reach and look forward to working together on future distribution opportunities.”
Amadeus Airline Group Americas client management senior vice president Scott Alvis said: “We look forward to continuing to work closely with United as they evolve their offer and to enable them to sell future products and services via the agency channel according to their strategy.
“Amadeus is working hand-in-hand with major carriers worldwide to provide full content on fares and availability along with the introduction of ancillary products for efficient and transparent shopping.”
