Florida Keys adds live chat to website

Visitors to the Florida Keys and Key West website can now chat live to experts as they are researching their trip.

Visitors to the Florida Keys and Key West website can now chat live to experts as they are researching their trip.

The live chat functionality on fla-keys.co.uk is available between 2pm and 10pm in the UK, and on its main site from 9am to 5pm Keys time.

Jessica Bennett, of the Keys tourism council, said: “This feature is relatively new for tourism bureaus and destination marketing organizations. Website visitors interact with live people with real-life knowledge.”

The live chat button is situated at the top of the page. Before users can start chatting they are asked which region they are interested in or can select ‘not sure’.

This generates a pop-up window that hosts the chat session and users are welcomes and encouraged to submit their enquiry.

President of the Marathon Chamber of Commerce, Daniel Samess, said: “We are excited about providing this new service giving visitors another means to connect and interact with travel professionals who live in the Keys.”
