Neilson Holidays has developed a Facebook game it hopes will increase engagement with its social media followers while kick-starting sales for the coming season.
The downhill slalom game has been created for the ski specialist by Arena Media and offer players a range of prizes from ski gear to a holiday.
Thomas Cook-owned Neilson believes it is pioneering the use of gaming in travel to drive up engagement with the the brand. Sonia Turner, Neilson Holidays marketing manager, said:
“We take thousands of guests on holiday throughout the ski season and we wanted to tap into their love of snow by inviting them to get involved in the growing Neilson community.
“The Neilson Ski Challenge game Arena Media have created is a perfect brand and consumer fit, and injects a new level of fun into our social profile.”
Katie Hebenton, account manager at Arena Media, added: “We know our passionate ski audience love a bit of friendly competition with fellow skiers.
“We created the Ski game as we knew they would want to be part of it, and it would become the perfect hook to bring these people together”
The game is available on the Neilson Holidays Facebook page and it part of a wider social media campaign that will also run on Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.
The campaign will run for a month from the October 20.
